What is The Green Buffalo Companies?
The Green Buffalo Companies is a Tribal owned business that exists to return building power to Native Nations through sustainable, regenerative methods. Guided by values of cultural sovereignty and community resilience, we specialize in constructing homes, schools, and infrastructure that honor the land, strengthen communities, and restore balance for future generations.
Our vision is simple yet profound: housing and infrastructure should not just shelter people, they should nurture health, culture, and sovereignty. Every beam, every wall, every classroom we build is rooted in a commitment to community strength and Indigenous futures.
Hempcrete Homes
We design and build high-quality, energy-efficient homes using hempcrete, a regenerative material that is fire, mold-resistant, pest-, and naturally breathable. These homes reduce utility costs, improve health, and last for generations.
Hempcrete Schools
We believe learning and gathering spaces should reflect cultural values and support wellness. Our team constructs schools, wellness centers, and community facilities that combine modern standards with Indigenous design principles.
Wealth can be measured in at least ten different ways, defining ten paths to sovereignty
All that is natural in the world. Nature. How much of the natural world is allowed to thrive?
The capacity to connect to everything, to each other, to nature. How spiritual is your community allowed to be?
Physical, emotional, social wellbeing. What is the collective health and wellness of your community?
Shared meaning making of a community. Do people deeply honor and practice their heritage and culture?
Relations–connections with others. Do people get along, trust one another, work and create together.
Information, understanding, wisdom. Do you and your community steward your own collective knowledge.
Capacity to think, reflect, grow, adapt. Are you mentally and emotionally well without depending on others
Our individual experiences, capacity, potential. Can you thrive without depending on people from the outside.
Physical manufactured things. Can you thrive without needing things from outside of your community.
Any resource measured in terms of money. Are you free from compromising your values because of money.
